Our Mission

The current issue of our magazine, Voices, showcasing our writer's talents.

The Lake Winnipeg Writers' Group is an association of professional and amateur writers whose literary pursuits and aspirations bind them together. Their goals are to inspire, encourage and further the creative writing abilities among its members; to uphold the dignity of writers and promulgate the importance of their craft in society, and to support the camaraderie of writers everywhere. Our publication Voices, published twice yearly, showcases the work of our talented writers.

We meet every fourth Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, September through June in the Multipurpose Room of Gimli's Johnson Memorial Hospital, 120 6th Avenue, Gimli, MB. Please use the 6th Avenue entrance. There is ample parking and the facility is wheelchair accessible.

The Executive will meet from 6:15 to 7:00 pm and all members are welcome to attend. The General Meeting will follow.

Our next meeting is 22 February 2012.

Check out Write On The Lake, our new contest, open to all writers.

Message From The President

Debra Dusome, President LWWG.

I am delighted to welcome you to the Lake Winnipeg Writers' Group website. This year the focus of the group is getting back to the basics of writing and fostering a spirit of community within the group. We have lots of activities planned for this year based on the voices of our members. We also hope to increase our membership this year. We publish a journal called Voices and we are all very proud of it and the works contained within. All genres of writing are encouraged and the group is made up of beginning as well as accomplished writers.

I encourage you to browse our website at your leisure and feel free to contact us for further information. I'd like to extend an open invitation for you to come and meet us in person at our monthly meetings in Gimli, Manitoba.

Debra Dusome, President
